Dearest Reader,
Hello and welcome to Borderline Babe!
Borderline Babe is a deeply personal continuation of my work in mental health advocacy. Essentially, Borderline Babe is my diary. I’m inviting you to read along in real time as I navigate life: love and relationships, work and play, ups and downs, good and bad, mental health and mental illness. I hope you will feel my pain, suffer my losses, and taste my tears. I also want you to see my smiles, rejoice in my successes, and hear my laughter.
Why? I believe we all tend to share only a carefully curated version of ourselves with the world, a version we think the world will approve of. Consciously or subconsciously, we hide away parts of ourselves for fear of being vulnerable, or labelled, or judged. I hope my thoughts, reactions, reflections, and emotions—raw and unfiltered—will echo some of your own, and let you know you are never alone, never the only one who feels the way you feel.
This blog is my baby; conceived with love in my bed, one sticky sweet midsummer ‘morn, it is the reflection of my very essence. Each thought, word, font, thong, and photograph is an extension of myself – all carefully curated for your eyes, and your eyes only. So, without further ado, I would like to officially welcome you to my heart and soul, Borderline Babe.
P.S. You take care of you!
I’m thrilled you’re here, but given its nature and purpose, Borderline Babe contains mentions of mental illness, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal ideation, strong language, and other adult themes. If you find the material upsetting, please don’t read further. You can always come back another time - I’ll still be here for you!
